Forest School

Forest School is a place where children step into the woodland and learn through real, meaningful experiences. They cook together over the fire pit - stirring soup, warming apple crumble or toasting marshmallows - and discover how food, heat and teamwork come together outdoors.

Children learn to shape and use tools safely, whittling sticks into charcoal pencils, characters or simple instruments, and begin to understand how natural materials can be transformed with care and patience.

As they climb, explore, build dens and weave with branches and grasses, children test ideas, solve problems and make decisions that grow their independence. They learn to identify trees, plants and wildlife, noticing how each plays a role in the ecosystem and how people, flora and fauna co-exist in the same space.

Forest School is led by Mrs Bryan, our passionate and highly qualified practitioner who holds a Food Hygiene Certificate (Level 3), First Aid and Outdoor & Paediatric First Aid Training. Under her guidance, children learn to risk assess their own play, follow their curiosity and investigate the world around them with confidence.
Every session deepens their connection with nature - from spotting seasonal changes to understanding why habitats matter - and helps them develop resilience, creativity and a sense of belonging in the outdoors

Forest School gives every child the chance to grow, explore and thrive in a setting where the natural world becomes both teacher and classroom.
